Subject: [DailyDialogue #223] Attraction
"You feel better about yourself when you are with her." - Ben Stiller
In the movie, "There's Something About Mary", Ben Stiller plays a man who is still in love with his High School flame after almost a decade of being apart. Funny thing is, at least five other men are also in love with Mary. What is it about Mary that men find so attractive?
The answer is very simple. Mary smiles and laughs when she is with them. She appreciates them for who they are. She is interested in their lives and their interests. She is compassionate about their flaws. She is happy with her life. She gives herself in service to others.
I know that I am more attractive to Marty when I demonstrate Mary's lovable characteristics. If I focus on complaining or criticizing, being generally negative about life, I'm not quite as attractive.
Experiment: Watch the movie about Mary and practice emulating the characteristics that you find attractive.
Affirmation: I am attracting wonderful people into my life.
