Subject: [DailyDialogue #162] Woundedness

"Yesterday I was standing in my bedroom looking at my wife.
I noticed her wrinkles and that she was aging. I felt a surge of love I've never felt before. She was so beautiful, more beatuiful than she has ever been before."
-- Johnny, friend of John Bradshaw in Creating Love Dialogues of the past couple of days have reminded me that my partner has suffered, sometimes intensely, through the years. Some events in her past left emotional scars. Seeing her in this way reminds me to be more compassionate about her ways and her sensitive areas.

Experiment: Take some time to visualize your partner at different stages of her life, both as a child and an adult. Imagine both her happy times and sad times to remind yourself of her need for your compassion.

Affirmation: We are a healing presence in each other's lives. The Daily Dialogue is published each day of 1998 by e-mail. Copyright 1998, Eddy Brame and Marty Crouch, All rights reserved.
