Subject: [DailyDialogue #136] In sickness ...
"I don't like it here but it's cold outside." - French writer Colette
Although sickness gives me little choice but to lie down and rest, I still don't like it. I have plans, places to go and responsibilities to look after. But my body says, "no more: you'll have to handle your plans and responsibilities and all that without me."
"How about a nice latte," I say, "that will pep you up won't it?"
"Sorry, but you'll have to do the latte without me today too," he responds.
"How truculent," I say.
Fortunately, my partner is less demanding. She says things like,"how are you feeling? May I bring you anything? and Perhaps you should stay in bed and rest."
Experiment: When you feel an illness coming on, rest.
Affirmation: My body is wise in the ways of the world.
