Subject: [DailyDialogue #54] What is Love?

"Love is the will to extend oneself for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth." - Scott Peck
If at first you don't succeed, get new batteries. This advice from a six year old is a good metaphor for amplifying the charge in our relationships. As we reflect on our past behaviors in relationships that ended, we are reminded of the importance of making the moment to moment decision to extend love.

At times we may not feel loving, yet if we act as if we feel loving, miracles happen. We may not have been taught how to love, yet if we are willing to learn, there is hope for a healthy relationship. To be willing is to have a desire or intention, to choose to love.

As we nurture ourselves and our partner, we grow spiritually as individuals and as a couple. As we feed the relationship by connecting on a deep spiritual level, our love blossoms.

Experiment - Share an area of challenge with your partner, something you have been afraid to talk about. Love this challenge by letting go of perfection and recognizing your progress. Embrace the gift it has brought you and tell your mate what it is.

Affirmation - I love myself the way I am.
