Subject: [DailyDialogue #26] Integrity

"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well. There is nothing more potent than thought. Deed follows word and word follows thought. The word is the result of a mighty thought, and where the thought is mighty and pure the result is always mighty and pure." - Mohandas K. Gandhi
Gandhi inspired millions of followers by his way of life. Through filling his mind with thoughts of nonviolence, teaching about ahimsa (non injury) and practicing non cooperation with evil, he established India's freedom. We have the power to create an environment of healing in our relationships when our thoughts, words and deeds are in harmony.

When a mother brought her son to Gandhi asking for help in getting him to follow the doctor's orders not to eat sweets, Gandhi asked her to bring the boy back in fifteen days. When the boy returned, Gandhi whispered in the boy's ear and the boy no longer ate sugar. The mother returned to learn the secret her son had heard from Gandhi, "I have given up sweets. I will start eating them again only when you are cured."

To describe his way of life, Gandhi coined the Sanskrit word Satyagraha meaning truth and firmness. He lived with integrity, firmly adhering to the truth, completely honest in thought, word and deed.

Experiment - In what areas have you been criticizing your partner yet unwilling to change yourself? Where have you been out of integrity in thought, word and deed? What agreements have you broken in your relationship? Dialogue with your partner on this topic.

Affirmation - I am creating mighty results in my life because I am thinking mighty thoughts.
