Subject: [DailyDialogue #307] The Right One - Cooperation

"The right one is the one with whom you would like to grow old."
-- The Wedding Singer, from a DailyDialogue reader in Mauritius (an island nation in the Indian Ocean)

Eddy and I have both been previously married and wanted to marry again. Each of us had searched for about ten years and encountered good potential partners. Those potential partners remained only "potential," even though we might have wanted them. In those cases, mutuality was missing and all the wanting them in the world could not make a lifetime partnership a reality.

When two people experience a mutual wanting to grow old together, a magical blessing has been bestowed by the universe. Accepting this blessing begins a process of growing together.

Eddy and I sometimes play tennis. Neither of us is an accomplished tennis player. Our mutual goal is to serve and return the ball so that we can continue our volleys many times across the net. We both win when we keep the ball going. When we apply this same cooperation to our loving dialogue, we are growing together.

Experiment: In your next conversation, imagine the tennis game where you serve and return the ball so that the volleys last a long time!

Affirmation: In our cooperation, we are more loving of ourself and each other.
